Million Meal Miracle: involve your local community

What better way to demonstrate your corporate social responsibility credentials to your local community than sponsoring a school rice packing event?

Million Meal Miracle aims to pack a million meals for schools in Zimbabwe or Somaliland by schools in the UK, through business sponsorship and trust funds. The event is run in the school by Feed The Hungry UK, including an educational programme that extends the children’s understanding of food poverty around the world.

How does it work?

The Million Meal Miracle is a simple idea.

  1. Your business sponsors a local school to do a rice pack. (You might like pair it with a rice packing day for your team.)
  2. Feed The Hungry UK will help identify an appropriate school. Alternatively, you can name a school that you’re already connected with.
  3. Our team runs the rice packing day at the school, where the children put together high-nutrition rice meals and pack them in boxes. They also engage in a lesson that explores global food poverty.
  4. The food is shipped to our trusted partners in Zimbabwe or Somaliland, where it provides impoverished children with a hot, nutritious meal – often their only substantial meal of the day.
  5. We report back to both you and the school about the life-saving impact of the food parcels.
  6. The UK school benefits from the educational input and the opportunity to make a difference for a school on the other side of the world.
  7. Children in Zimbabwe and Somaliland benefit from nutritious food, helping them to grow and learn.
  8. You benefit your CSR and ESG goals, both locally and globally.

It’s the perfect opportunity for your business to make a significant local and international impact.
