For the last two years, AGCO Finance have invested in Lillington Community Pantry, one of our UK-based Transformation Projects. Their partnership has been world-changing for the 861 clients of the Pantry1, giving low-cost access to essential food.
combatting rural food poverty
Lillington Community Pantry is the next step on from accessing emergency food at a foodbank. It helps people reach a place of financial stability and sustainability, until they are no longer dependent on support to feed themselves and their households.

This is a particular challenge in more rural communities. Households living on the breadline struggle to access bigger, cheaper supermarkets, so are reliant on local, more expensive shops. When finances are tight, this can leave people unable to put food on the table.
The Community Pantry is a subsidised membership-only supermarket. A Pantry member pays £5 and gets £25 worth of shopping. They can choose this themselves, selecting the items much like you would in a supermarket.
Meeting needs local to their customers
As an agricultural business, AGCO Finance is fully aware of the financial challenges faced by rural communities. Their investment in the Community Pantry is an investment in their customers’ world, meeting their CSR and ESG goals in a way that resonates with their business.

A thriving partnership
The business is invested
AGCO Finance has been incredibly generous in their commitment to Lillington Pantry. For the last two years, Feed The Hungry UK has been their charity of the year. They announced a donation of £15,000 in late 2024 – money that will support the costs of this vital service as people continue to face increasing financial pressures.
The staff are invested
What really makes AGCO’s investment special, however, is that it’s something every member of staff is involved in.

Every second Wednesday for the past two years, a small team arrives at the Pantry to stock shelves, serve customers and chat to people. Most importantly, they experience first hand the amazing transformation Lillington Pantry brings to people’s finances, mental health and families.
Over the course of the last two years, nearly every member of staff has volunteered at the Pantry, from the CEO down. This is an investment they make as a whole team.

Striding for Santa: Employee fundraising
During Christmas 2024, AGCO Finance staff stepped out to raise money for Lillington Community Pantry. The staff signed up to walk 500m laps of the outside of the building. For every lap they completed, AGCO Finance donated £2 to the Pantry.
The money raised purchased Christmas presents for the children of Lillington Pantry clients, who were unable to afford gifts.
