Surplus Stock: your excess, their essentials

Every business ends up with surplus stock. Whether it’s decommissioned electronics, old office equipment, excess medical supplies, end of line assets or unwanted long-life food supplies, it’s all stuff you have to shift.

The best businesses know how to shift it well, making sure they contribute to their business’s ESG goals in the process. Our Transformation Projects are perfectly set up to help your excess have the best possible environmental and social impact.

Want to see what your surplus stock can do?

  • Donating surplus to communities we support contributes to a reduced carbon footprint. Your surplus doesn’t end out in landfill, increasing carbon emissions. Instead, it is used to the end of its life – a far more environmentally positive outcome.
  • Your donated surplus boosts communities in need, resulting in a positive social impact for disadvantaged people. Your excess is their essentials, and results in opportunities for development that weren’t there before.
  • It can even have better financial outcomes for your business! Reduced storage and disposal costs coupled with tax deductions for charitable donations can benefit your business – not to mention the reputational benefits of ethically conscious, environmentally aware business practices.

How does it work?

It starts with a conversation, to find out what surplus stock you have and how we could best utilise it.

We find the most impactful home for your surplus and work with you to arrange the logistics and delivery of the stock. We ask businesses to make a donation that covers the delivery costs (often a fraction of the cost of disposal by other means).

Will my surplus stock be useful to you?

That’s a good question!

We have projects across the world with a huge variety of needs. It’s therefore very likely that the answer is yes – we do know a community who would benefit from your surplus stock.

That’s why we always report back on the impact of surplus stock donations.

However, please be assured that we will never take stock when we can’t see a genuine benefit to the community. Like you, we’re not interested in ticking boxes without having an on-the-ground impact.

Useful surplus stock includes things like:

  • Computing equipment
  • Long-life food
  • Tables & chairs
  • Stationery
  • STEM supplies for schools
  • Farming equipment & tools
  • Building equipment & tools
  • Bedding, clothing and shoes
